Terms of Service
Last updated: April 10, 2026
SimpleOps is operated by The I.T. Department ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using SimpleOps, you ("User") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
1. Service
SimpleOps is an operations management platform for managed service providers and IT services businesses. It provides ticketing, client management, invoicing, estimating, project management, scheduling, and optional integrations with third-party services including QuickBooks Online.
2. Account and Access
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for all activities that occur under their account. Users must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach involving their account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. QuickBooks Online Integration
Users may connect a QuickBooks Online company to SimpleOps via Intuit's OAuth 2.0 authorization flow. When connected, SimpleOps reads and writes invoice, estimate, customer, item, payment, and tax code data on behalf of the User in accordance with the scopes granted during authorization. Users may disconnect the integration at any time from the Settings → Integrations page within SimpleOps, or from within QuickBooks Online under Apps → Connected Apps. Disconnecting immediately nullifies all stored OAuth tokens.
4. Payment Processing
SimpleOps does not process, collect, or store credit card, bank account, or other payment instrument data. Payment collection, when used, is handled entirely by QuickBooks Payments (Intuit Payments Inc.) via QBO-hosted invoice payment links. Users and their customers are subject to Intuit's payment processing terms and privacy policy. The I.T. Department is not a party to any payment transaction and bears no responsibility for payment processing outcomes.
5. Acceptable Use
Users agree not to:
Use the service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the service or its related systems
Interfere with or disrupt the service's operation or the servers hosting it
Use the service to store, transmit, or distribute malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service
Resell, sublicense, or transfer access to the service without written authorization
6. Data Ownership
Users retain full ownership of all business data they submit to SimpleOps, including client records, tickets, invoices, estimates, and project data. We maintain this data solely to provide the service and do not share, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose User data to third parties except as strictly necessary to operate the service (for example, transmitting invoice data to QuickBooks Online at the User's explicit direction).
7. Intuit QuickBooks Data
Data retrieved from QuickBooks Online via the Intuit API is used exclusively to provide functionality the User has requested within SimpleOps (syncing invoices, estimates, customers, items, payments, and tax codes). We do not use QuickBooks data for any other purpose, we do not share it with third parties, and we delete it from our systems when the User disconnects the integration or closes their account.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from harmful components. Use of the service is at the User's sole risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The I.T. Department and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to the User's access to or use of the service.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the application. Continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, the User's right to access the service ends immediately. We will retain User data for up to 30 days after termination to allow for data export, after which it will be permanently deleted.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Hidalgo County, Texas.
